Benzoyl peroxide is very effective when it comes to treating mild cases of either inflammatory or non-inflammatory acne. It is safe for children as well as for adults and can be used in combination with other topical or oral treatments. It is commonly used to treat acne. It helps in removing bacteria, which are the cause of irritation or inflammation of acne and helps in unblocking pores by increasing the turnover of skin cells.
It works by killing bacteria that cause the acne and reducing inflammation in the follicle. It acts as an antiseptic and oxidizing agent, reducing the number of blocked pores. It may take 2-3 weeks before you begin to see improvement.
